Krista Vossler

These are just a few shots from the three rolls of film we took two weeks ago. Krista is a singer/songwriter with an amazing voice and great talent. [link] We photographed in the Johnson House, a museum I had shot in earlier this year, to get a "vintage" feel. It was alot of fun to work with Krista, and I wish her the best for her musical career.

Fire in Kensington

Completley unrelated to photography or my work, I would like to take this time to post about a fire which spread across my neighborhood two nights ago. A 7-alarm fire consumed an abandoned warehouse in our Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia [AP news article]. At least eight other houses in the vicinity of the warehouse were destoryed, leaving many families homeless. Over 100 people were evacuated from their homes, and 400 families were without power for some time.

One of these houses was The Simple Way Community Center at 3200 Potter Street. This was home to a community arts center, an after-school program, Cottage Printwork's t-shirt micro-business, and also a living space for two aquaintences of mine.

The loss is great for these families and friends. Myself, and others within our community are coming together to help in any way possible with the relief and rebuilding on these properties. The Simple Way has set up numeours ways in which you can help donate to the cause on their website: http://www.thesimpleway.org/ [link]

I would ask that, if it is in your heart to give, to please help out financially with the re-building of homes for these families and The Simple Way center.

Thanks.

Michelle and Ed - June 9, 2007

I took more of a photojournalistic approach to Michelle and Ed's wedding, which was performed in a very beautiful old church in center city philadelphia. Spending the day with the two of them showed me how tight knit they keep their friends and family. It was apparent that there was alot of love for each other in the room. I wish them the best in their new life together! Thanks Michelle and Ed!

Brad Labriola

Brad is a film-maker. He spent 2 months in the Democratic Republic of Congo at Panzi hospital with women who are recovering rape victims, due to terrorism throughout the Congo. Me and Brad had an idea to take a fun/awkward photograph of him with some sheep or goats. The pictures didn't turn out how I wanted to portray him as... but are nice photos nonetheless. Thanks Brad, maybe in the future we'll try something different.

Lindsey and Jesse Parsons - May 25, 2007

Lindsey and Jesse are two friends of mine that I hold dearly. So it's no surprise that I shot their wedding. I was excited to shoot it from the minute I heard they were engaged. And despite Lindsey getting into a scooter accident 3 days before the wedding (which resulted in scratches all over the side of her face, and a gash down her leg), the photos came out better than I could have ever imagined them to. I feel blessed having been able to document my friends' wedding.
